Sumarsono A, Segar MW, Xie L, et al. - Using the Medicaid State Utilization Dataset, researchers here examined how Medicaid expansion has affected the amount and type of contraceptive prescriptions. Both expansion and non-expansion states exhibited an increase in overall long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) use. Overall findings suggest no association of Medicaid expansion with a change in per-capita LARC or short-acting hormonal contraception use.
