BMJ Open Sep 08, 2017

The mediating effects were found to be evident and varied across diagnoses. Interventions were warranted in order to address and reduce the effects of self-stigma along with targeted therapies and psychoeducation. This would aid the people with mental illness to overcome or better manage self-stigma while providing them the skills to counteract public stigma.
