Diawara F, et al. – Seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) proved highly effective in randomized controlled trials (RCTs), in this study, authors sought for evidence and experience from routine implementation of SMC to support its efficacy. In Mali, routine implementation of SMC substantially reduced malaria and anaemia, with reductions of similar magnitude to those seen in previous RCTs. Authors thus suggest improving coverage to further strengthen SMC impact.
