Measurement of the uterocervical angle for predicting the latent period in pregnancy exhibiting premature membrane rupture
Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation Apr 30, 2021
Ercan F, et al. - Using transvaginal sonography, researchers sought to determine the association between the uterocervical angle (UCA) and preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) latency and the risk for neonatal complications. This investigation was carried out at a tertiary center with a total of 80 singleton pregnancies with PPROM. According to this prospective cohort study, the transvaginal measurement of the UCA will accurately predict the latent period in PPROM. The UCA can be used to assess when corticosteroid therapy should be started and to remind patients about the time of birth.
