Measurement of the accuracy of 3D-printed medical models to be used for robot-assisted partial nephrectomy
American Journal of Roentgenology May 11, 2019
Michiels C, et al. - In this investigation involving 16 patients who had robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) aided by 3D printing and anonymized CT, researchers evaluated the anatomic accuracy of the 3D model used for 3D model–guided RAPN. Data reported that the median tumor size was 4.7 cm. Findings revealed that the median arterial interbranch measurement was 1.8%. With respect to anatomic reality, three-dimensional printed models are accurate. It is necessary to evaluate the reliability of surgical assistance with 3D printed models.
