Measurement of cytokines, chemokines and association with clinical severity of DM/CADM disease
British Journal of Dermatology Aug 17, 2018
Chen M, et al. - In dermatomyositis (DM) and clinically amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM) patients, experts evaluated the correlation between serum cytokines, chemokines and clinical severity, especially cutaneous lesions and interstitial lung disease (ILD). For assessing cutaneous disease activity in DM/CADM, serum levels of interferon-β (IFN-β); and CXCL-10 may be useful biomarkers. Furthermore, they noted a high association serum IL-6, IL-10, IL-18 and IFN-β with the occurrence of acute/subacute interstitial pneumonia (A/SIP) . A role may be played by these cytokines in the pathogenesis of DM/CADM.
