Measurement and implications of the distance between the sphenopalatine ganglion and nasal mucosa: A neuroimaging study
The Journal of Headache and Pain Feb 18, 2018
Crespi J, et al. - Aneuroimaging study was conducted with a focus on measurement and implications of the distance between the sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) and nasal mucosa. Compared to previous findings, this study revealed a longer distance between the SPG and nasal mucosa over the SPF. Results thereby question the assumption that the intranasal topical application of local anaesthetic close to the SPF can passively diffuse to the SPG.
