Matriderm dermal substitute in the treatment of post traumatic hand’s fingertip tissue loss
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Apr 07, 2021
Fulchignoni C, Rocchi L, Cauteruccio M, et al. - Since treatment of fingers tissue loss is especially challenging as it often necessitates advanced reconstructive techniques like flaps or grafts, with aesthetic and functional results that are not always as good as hoped for, with long healing times, researchers sought to assess retrospectively the clinical outcomes, comparing patients treated with Matriderm using the traditional two-step procedure, with patients treated without a skin graft. Twenty-seven fingers have been included in this study between October 2017 and October 2018. The findings indicate that Matriderm, when used without skin graft coverage, is a viable alternative for treating fingertip tissue loss.
