Hwang SS, et al. - The connection between maternal substance use disorders (SUDs) during pregnancy with adverse neonatal outcomes and infant hospital re-admissions, observational stays, and emergency department utilization were comprehensively gauged in this study, in the first year of life. A greater risk of adverse health outcomes was reported among the infants born to mothers with SUD, during the perinatal period. They exhibited a greater tendency of being rehospitalized in the first year of life.
