Maternal obesity and risk of cerebral palsy in children: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Zhang J, et al. - Researchers searched PubMed and Web of Science until August 2017 to examine whether maternal obesity was associated with increased risk of cerebral palsy (CP) in offspring via a systematic review and meta-analysis. An aggregate of five cohort studies including 12,324 cases and 7,919,288 participants were incorporated in the meta-analysis. The results of this study revealed that increasing grades of maternal obesity were correlated with increasing risk of CP in offspring.
