Liu X, et al. - The link between maternal hypothyroidism in the perinatal period and childhood asthma risk was explored in a population-based cohort study while accounting for the timing of hypothyroidism diagnosis. In addition, the impact of thyroid hormone treatment during pregnancy on this risk was investigated. An increased childhood asthma risk was suggested in association with maternal hypothyroidism, especially when it was untreated.
