Rottenstreich A, et al. - The associations of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy with maternal and perinatal outcomes were investigated. In this study, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy showed an overall positive effect on maternal and neonatal outcomes by significantly reducing the risk for gestational diabetes mellitus, fetal macrosomia, and large-for-gestational-age neonates as well as in-labor cesarean deliveries. Nonetheless, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy was associated with an increased rate of low-birth-weight or SGA neonates.
