Rheumatology Apr 24, 2021
Xie W, Huang H, Ji L, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis, researchers ascertained if maternal psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) are correlated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. From inception to August 3, 2020, they searched multiple electronic databases and reference lists of selected articles. In total, 16 studies were included in the meta-analysis. Pregnant women with psoriasis or PsA are at an increased risk of adverse maternal events but not of adverse neonatal events. In daily practice, close monitoring of the mothers' clinical status before and during pregnancy is unquestionably required.
