Maternal age at last birth and leukocyte telomere length in a nationally representative population of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women
Menopause Nov 03, 2020
Latour CD, O’Connell K, Romano ME, et al. - The present study was conducted to assess whether maternal age at birth of the last child is associated with leukocyte telomere length in a nationally representative population of perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. Researchers designed a cross-sectional analysis including a total of 1,232 women to evaluate maternal age at last birth and telomere length, between 1999 and 2002. The results of this study exhibited that Later maternal age was correlated with longer telomere length in a nationally representative population of women. These findings serve new insight into the biological correlation between reproductive history and long-term health.
