Matched short-term results of SADI vs GBP after sleeve gastrectomy
Obesity Surgery Jul 26, 2018
Ceha CMM, et al. - Short-term results in terms of weight loss and comorbidities reduction of both single anastomosis duodenoileal bypass (SADI) and gastric bypass (GBP) as a revisional procedure after primary sleeve gastrectomy were reviewed in this retrospective matched-control study. Researchers evaluated complications and vitamin deficiencies in addition. On analyzing a total of 64 patients, 32 SADI procedures and 32 matched gastric bypasses with no significant differences on baseline, they suggest that SADI could be considered as a safe alternative to a GBP following sleeve gastrectomy with a similar amount of additional weight loss and fewer post-operative early complications.
