Marital violence affecting female nurses and its physical and mental health consequences

Al‐Natour A, et al. - Using a descriptive correlational design, researchers examined how marital violence affects Jordanian nurses’ physical and mental health. Recruitment was performed of 198 female Jordanian nurses from five governmental hospitals was done. They used the Women Abuse Screening Test to determine forms of violence, and used the SF‐36 V2 instrument to assess physical and mental health. Different forms of violence were reported in a high percentage among female nurses. Results suggest hazardous physical and mental health consequences of violence on Jordanian female nurses that adversely affect their entire life.
