Journal of Pain and Symptom Management Dec 04, 2019
Clark D, Baur N, Clelland D, et al. - An online survey of researchers in 198 countries produced 2017 data on ten indicators of palliative care provision, fitted to six categories of development in order to define prevailing levels of global palliative care development and report on variances since 2006. it was observed that for only 14% of the world's population, palliative care at the greatest level of provision is accessible and it is focused in European countries. Moreover, an 87% global rise in severe health-related distress responsive to palliative care interventions is prognosticated by 2060. Nevertheless, with need increasing, palliative care is not striking the levels needed by at least half the global population.
