Manual aspiration in the biopsy-side down position to deal with delayed pneumothorax after lung biopsy

Zeng LC, et al. - This inquiry was set up to retrospectively evaluate the impact of aspiration in the biopsy-side down position to deal with delayed pneumothorax after computed tomography (CT)-guided lung biopsy. Findings demonstrated safety as well as efficacy of manual aspiration in biopsy-side down position in treating delayed pneumothorax after CT-guided transthoracic needle biopsies (TTNBs). This led to an attenuation in the rate of pneumothorax requiring drainage catheter placement.
