Nellihela L, et al. - An appraisal was pursued of the pneumatosis intestinalis (PI) in children beyond the early infantile period. Those patients not on chemotherapy or immunosuppressant displayed a benign course and exhibited responsiveness to conservative management. In the case of adults, however, portal venous gas and pneumoperitoneum did not speculate the necessity for surgical intervention.
