Spivak ES, et al. - This study focused on the management of bacteriuria in veterans affairs hospitals. Observations revealed that the majority of bacteriuria among inpatient veterans was due to asymptomatic bacteriuria (ASB) with high rates of treatment of ASB and prolonged durations of therapy for ASB and symptomatic urinary tract infections (UTIs).
