Zheng K, et al. - With an intent to fill the knowledge gaps about the cerebral small vessel diseases (CSVD) and cognitive function in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients, researchers undertook this investigation. They found that in this population, CSVD and cognitive impairment were highly prevalent. In this work, cognitive function decline was primarily attributed to lacunar infarct and an association was evident between malnutrition-inflammation and CSVD.
