Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors: A single institution’s experience using combined surgery and radiation therapy
American Journal of Clinical Oncology Apr 28, 2018
Bishop AJ, et al. - Researchers probed the local control (LC), survival outcomes, and associated prognostic factors for patients with malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumours (MPNSTs) treated with combined surgery and radiation therapy (RT). As per the data, favourable LC was provided by the combination therapy with surgery and RT. Nonetheless, at the time of relapse, distant recurrences continued to be challenging with limited salvage success. Authors noted the 5-year LC was 84%, distant metastatic-free survival was 62%, and disease-specific survival was 66%.
