YG T, et al. – This study was planned to assess magnitude of cytopenias among HIV–infected children in Bahir Dar, northwest Ethiopia. Researchers recognized anemia as the most common cytopenia, followed by neutropenia. Severe immunosuppression and younger age seemed related to anemia. Therefore, they recommended investigating and managing cytopenias in HIV–infected children, particularly for those who are immunosuppressed and of younger age.
