Magnetic resonance post-contrast vascular hyperintensities at 3 T: A new highly sensitive sign of vascular occlusion in acute ischaemic stroke

European Radiology Feb 16, 2018

Duron L, et al. - The prevalence and significance of a post-contrast three-dimensional turbo-spin-echo T1-weighted sequence was shown to exhibit striking post-contrast vascular hyperintensities (PCVH) in ischaemic territories for the diagnosis of acute ischaemic strokes. To diagnose and locate vascular occlusions, PCVH during acute strokes was shown to be a sensitive and reproducible tool. This approach is possibly useful in triaging patients who could benefit from thrombectomy.
