Lymphovascular invasion as a prognostic factor in non-metastatic adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction after radical surgery
Cancer Management and Research Dec 16, 2020
Zheng C, Feng X, Zheng J, et al. - Researchers here examined how lymphovascular invasion (LVI) affects the prognosis of adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction (AEG). Among 224 retrospectively analyzed patients with non-metastatic AEG who underwent radical surgery, 96 (42.9%) had development of LVI. Observations revealed correlation of LVI with worse prognosis in AEG. In Siewert type III AEG, LVI had a worse effect on disease-specific survival relative to Siewert type I/II AEG.
