Lymphocyte immunotherapy for recurrent miscarriages: Predictors of therapeutic success
American Journal of Reproductive Immunology Jun 07, 2018
Cavalcante MB, et al. - In this retrospective, multicenter, observational study, researchers determined the factors that could predict therapeutic success with lymphocyte immunotherapy (LIT) in women with a history of recurrent miscarriages (RMs). They compared women with a history of RM having undergone LIT and experienced treatment success with those having experienced treatment failure. In addition, they analyzed the link between the number of prior miscarriages and the efficacy of LIT. The factors that were found to have associations with LIT failure included age, the number of previous miscarriages, and the association between autoantibodies and thrombophilia. Better LIT outcomes were observed consequent to a higher number of previous miscarriages in cases of secondary RM.
