Lymph-node ratio predicts survival among the different stages of non-small-cell lung cancer: A multicentre analysis
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Sep 12, 2018
Chiappetta M, et al. - Researchers investigated the impact of lymphadenectomy, in addition to the already validated variables, on non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) survival via retrospectively analyzing data on 4,858 patients with NSCLC undergoing anatomical lung resection and hilomediastinal lymphadenectomy in six institutions from January 2002 to December 2012. Outcomes revealed a strong predictive value of the number of resected lymph nodes in NSCLC. Specifically, both overall survival and disease-free survival could be forecasted via the number of resected lymph nodes cut-off value of 40%.
