Lumen area change (Delta Lumen) between inspiratory and expiratory CT as a measure of severe outcomes in asthma
The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Feb 15, 2018
Shim SS, et al. - Whether the change of airway lumen area between total lung capacity and functional residual capacity lung volumes measured from multi-detector computed tomography imaging data was correlated with severe outcomes in asthma patients, was investigated herein. Quantitative computed tomography (QCT)-measured reduced Delta Lumen of the central airways was identified as a promising exploratory biomarker of unstable refractory asthma.
