Chu A, et al. - This meta-analysis was conducted to ascertain the zinc status of trained athletes compared with control populations, as described in cross-sectional studies. Athletes generally had lower serum zinc concentration despite higher total dietary zinc intake. Thereby, findings suggested that athletes had a higher requirement of zinc compared to those who were physically inactive.
