Lower neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio predicts high risk of multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in patients with hospital-acquired pneumonia
Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management Oct 10, 2018
Zhou YQ, et al. - Researchers investigated the risk factors and prognosis of hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) due to multidrug resistant (MDR)-Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) infection via performing a retrospective analysis of collected data on all episodes of HAP caused by PA (PA-HAP) occurring from January 2013 to December 2016. Outcomes suggest that in HAP patients, lower neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) level is a clinical predictor of MDR-PA infection. Patients with HAP had poor outcomes in correlation to MDR-PA infection even with goal-directed therapy.
