Lower dose of sufentanil does not enhance fast track significantly: A randomized study
Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia Nov 14, 2017
Bhavsar R, et al. - The goal of this investigation was to test the validity of a notion that low-dose sufentanil vs a standard dose, can improve fast-track parameters and the overall quality of recovery in patients who were admitted to cardiac recovery unit (CRU) following elective coronary artery bypass grafting with or without aortic valve replacement. Furthermore, opioid requirements related to personality type, pain sensitivity, and preoperative stress and anxiety also were assessed. Findings revealed that sufentanil, administered in a lower dose vs a standard dose, failed to enhance fast-track conditions significantly.
