Low-to-moderate intensity aerobic exercise training modulates irritable bowel syndrome through antioxidative and inflammatory mechanisms in women: Results of a randomized controlled trial
Cytokine Jan 25, 2018
Maleki BH, et al. - The goal of this investigation was to unveil the putative beneficial impacts of low-to-moderate intensity exercise training program in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Symptom attenuation was noted in IBS patients who were a part of low-to-moderate intensity exercise training program. Furthermore, findings suggested an immune- and redox modulating function for exercise training as it was observed that symptom improvement was associated with a reversal of the ratio of anti- to pro-inflammatory cytokines as well as facilitating blood redox homeostasis.
