Raymond EG, et al. - The authors sought to summarize data on the accuracy and acceptability of a strategy for identifying ongoing pregnancy after medical abortion treatment using a low-sensitivity pregnancy test (LSPT). They recognized that for identifying ongoing pregnancy, the LSPT strategy had moderate sensitivity. This strategy could enable the majority of medical abortion patients to assess treatment outcome at home. However, in the detection of treatment failures, the LSPT itself showed a limited role in the studies.
