Tariq R, et al. - A systematic review and metaanalysis was conducted of studies assessing the risk of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) with tetracyclines compared to other antibiotics. Findings revealed that compared with other antimicrobials, tetracyclines could be associated with a decreased risk of CDI. Whenever appropriate, it could be reasonable to use tetracyclines to decrease CDI associated with antibiotic use.
