Low periostin expression predicts poor survival in intestinal type gastric cancer patients
Cancer Management and Research Dec 24, 2018
Zhang T, et al. - Investigators analyzed 747 cases between December 2006 and July 2011 to examine the impact of periostin in gastric cancer (GC) cases who underwent gastrectomy by immunohistochemistry. They observed the prediction of the periostin expression in lymph node (LN) metastasis and a higher periostin expression in stroma and epithelial cells of intestinal type than in diffuse type. They concluded intestinal type GC subjects with high periostin level had both a favorable survival and lesser LN metastasis.
