Low expression of ZMYND8 correlates with aggressive features and poor prognosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Cancer Management and Research Aug 24, 2019
Chen J, Liu J, Chen X, et al. - Researchers focused on ZMYND8 expression status and its prognostic importance in nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPCs). They analyzed NPC samples using immunohistochemistry to determine the status of ZMYND8 expression. Using ROC-curve analysis, they corroborated the cutoff value of ZMYND8 expression in NPCs. Findings revealed a strong correlation of low expression of ZMYND8 with late T stage in NPCs. A significant link between low ZMYND8 expression and worse overall survival was found in Kaplan–Meier survival analysis. The possible significance of low expression of ZMYND8 was suggested because it showed more aggressive behavior in NPC. Overall, ZMYND8 expression might be an independent prediction factor in patients with NPCs.
