Low-dose preoperative pregabalin improves postoperative pain management in septorhinoplasty surgery: A double-blind randomized clinical trial

Pourfakhr P, et al. - Researchers evaluated a single low dose (75 mg) preoperative pregabalin for its efficacy in reducing post-operative pain of septorhinoplasty. They performed a double blind single center Randomized controlled trial including 34 participants in the pregabalin group who were administered 75 mg pregabalin orally one hour before anesthesia induction and 34 participants in control group who were provided a placebo. Outcomes revealed very high efficacy of a single dose of 75 mg pregabalin for pain control after septorhinoplasty procedure, with rare side effects and with opioid-sparing.
