Low-dose aspirin and risk of intracranial bleeds: An observational study in UK general practice

Cea Soriano L, et al. - Using a population-based primary care database in the United Kingdom, the authors estimated the risk of intracranial bleeds (ICBs) correlated with new use of prophylactic low-dose aspirin. They found no association between low-dose aspirin and an increased risk of any type of ICB. In addition, when used for ≥1 year, it was correlated with a significantly decreased risk of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
