Ku E, et al. - This study was designed to look at the link between longitudinal weight change during the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and subsequent mortality. Among study participants, initiation of significant weight loss was reported relatively early during the course of CKD and such a weight loss was found to be related to a substantially higher risk for death after dialysis therapy initiation.
