Chiu CY, et al. - This study was carried out to assess the link between longitudinal vitamin D deficiency and development of atopic diseases in early childhood. Findings demonstrated an inverse association of vitamin D deficiency with absolute eosinophil count and mite-specific IgE levels, which may potentially increase susceptibility to develop allergies including rhinitis and asthma in early childhood.
