Longitudinal observational study of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty for irreparable rotator cuff dysfunction: Results after 15 years
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jan 21, 2018
Gerber C, et al. - This longitudinal observational study was performed to examine whether functional outcome remained significantly improved over the preoperative state beyond 15 years of reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) for irreparable rotator cuff dysfunction. This early series of RTSA demonstrated a substantial complication and failure rate. However, the outcome was not compromised if complications could be treated without removal of the implants. During the entire study period, overall shoulder function and the subjective outcome remained significantly improved and highly satisfactory.
