Longitudinal melanonychia: Differences in etiology are associated with patient age at diagnosis

Tseng YT, et al. - The diagnosis of longitudinal melanonychia (LM) in different age groups was compared herein. Significantly higher risk of melanoma was seen in the adult group. Children with LM demonstrated mostly nonmelanoma etiologies. In adult cases, tissue proof was more warranted and it was required in selected cases of children having LM.
