Longitudinal association of adiposity with wheezing and atopy at 22 years: The 1993 Birth Cohort, Pelotas, Brazil
Journal of Asthma and Allergy Dec 06, 2018
Menezes AMB, et al. - Authors assessed the longitudinal correlation of obesity/adiposity with wheezing and atopy. Obesity body mass index, percent fat mass (FM), and fat mass index, which were obtained by precise methods (BOD POD and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry [DXA]) were the exposure variables. At 22 years old, several measures of adiposity and wheezing were seen to be longitudinally associated in a positively manner. For cumulative adiposity, effect was higher; no consistency was seen in the results for atopy.
