Lin CC, et al. - The effects of exposure to the anticonvulsant agent valproic acid (VPA), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, on the risk of developing cancers were evaluated in a retrospective cohort study. In cancer prevention, VPA was found to have no role. Researchers identified VPA association with an increased subgroup risk of genitourinary cancer in the treatment duration 1 year in bipolar disorder.
