Kaluza J, et al. - Researchers performed an investigation determining the association between long-term red meat consumption and risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in a prospective cohort of women with moderate red meat consumption. Findings revealed a positive association between long-term processed red meat and risk of COPD. The association was particularly observed among ex-smokers.
