van Schaik TG, et al. - This study was planned to assess the long-term survival and secondary procedures after open or endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. During 12 years of follow-up, patients undergoing open or endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair indicated no survival difference, despite a continuously increasing number of reinterventions in the endovascular repair group. Key issues identified included endograft durability and the need for continued endograft surveillance.
