Schwindling FS, et al. - The clinicians examined the long-term effectiveness of oral health education of caregivers in nursing homes with care-dependent and cognitively impaired residents. Over longer periods, education of caregivers improved and maintained the oral health of care-dependent nursing home residents. Among the severely care-dependent, use of ultrasonic devices was a promising means of improving denture hygiene. In routine daily care, such interventions could be easily and cheaply implemented.
