Long-term results after PCI of unprotected distal left main coronary artery stenosis: The Bifurcations Bad Krozingen (BBK)-Left Main Registry
Clinical Research in Cardiology Jul 31, 2018
Ferenc M, et al. - Researchers determined the long-term clinical outcome of a single- vs a double-stenting strategy for treatment of unprotected distal left main stenosis (UDLM). They used a large registry to identify 867 consecutive patients with UDLM undergoing either single or double stenting with drug-eluting stents (DES). These patients were followed-up for 10 (median 3.1, interquartile range 1.1–5.3) years. They observed a significantly higher long-term risk of MACE in relation to double stenting vs single stenting, driven by a higher incidence of target lesion re-intervention (TLR), while the two strategies carried a similar risk of death, MI, or stent thrombosis.
