Long-term prognostic implications of risk factors associated with tumor size: A case study of women regularly attending screening

Strand F, et al. - Authors investigated the factors associated with the diagnosis of large (> 2 cm) vs small tumors, and to analyze the consequences for long-term prognosis. According to the data, body mass index (BMI) and percent density (PD) were the only factors related to tumor size at diagnosis. High BMI was associated with worse prognosis among women with interval cancer, but hazard rate was not linked to PD. They suggested that women with high BMI be especially encouraged have screenings.
