Long-term patient reported outcomes of elbow, wrist and hand surgery for rheumatoid arthritis
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Sep 11, 2018
Okura C, et al. - Experts administered a retrospective questionnaire survey to gauge the long-term outcomes of elbow, wrist and hand surgery for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In RA patients, elbow, wrist and hand surgery provided long-lasting benefits, as seen in the original patient-reported outcome assessment tool, with nearly 85% of patients happy with the surgical site outcome. While, in some of the surgical sites the efficacy differed, pain relief was the most often cited favorable effect. At 10 years, there was a chance of altered medical therapy to have impacted the patient-perceived outcomes of surgery.
